Dear Friends, Family, Colleagues, Clients, & Co-workers,

I want to take time and thank those of you who pledged to sponsor me or took time out of your day to write up references for me this last month. I am happy to report that it paid off, thanks to your help.

I have some very exciting news. Just as I was about to loose hope this last day of April before the letters of regrets are to be sent out, I received word from Apple Inc. (you know them as the maker of the iPod, the iPhone, the iMac, the MacOS, and all) that I was awarded a scholarship to attend this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) which will take place this June at Moscone West in San Francisco.

WWDC is Apple’s premiere annual event where thousands of developers from companies around the world come to California to interact with Appleā€™s technical architects and engineers to get the first hands on the latest gadgets they’re working on. Students have the opportunity to learn directly from Apple engineers, meet fellow Apple developers, and advance their careers. Rumor has it that you may even meet the big Steve Jobs himself in person.

Apple’s scholarship is only given to 400 students worldwide (yes, not nationwide!) and is based on your educational background, work experience, and life goals. Needless to say, I must have just sneaked under the tail end of that 400. I guess all you have to do is put hard work and some effort into what you do and things will pay off. It usually costs a few thousand dollars to attend this exclusive event. I have to say this has been a very exciting moment in my college career. I am supposed to hear from the university any day now regarding receiving this distinction.

Thanks again to all of you who have helped me on this path. It has been a pleasure working with all of you. I will be sure to keep you posted as time draws near.
